A new branch of the Woman Within tree is growing and being tended and nurtured by women who are welcoming and embracing the promise of new fruit in 2009.

Women from around Wisconsin have been talking, planning, dreaming, building and putting into motion a strong community. The journey began in May of 2008. Throughout this journey, we have increased our awareness and sensitivity to our fellow sisters in communities all across the State and have taken into consideration the wants and desires of women in Wisconsin. We have done this by holding "town meetings", talking with women on the phone, emailing and also mailing out a survey, all in an attempt to see, hear and feel what women want from this newly forming community.

The by-laws are complete. The application for non-profit status has been submitted. Fundraising efforts are well underway. Events for women and their families are being planned. Trainings will be offered. All in an attempt to provide connection and information for those who want it.

We are operating under a temporary board that includes: Dawn Clark, Cristin Kaiser, Jan Noffke, Pam Kehoe and Sonja Ortman. They are acting collectively as an organizing body until June, 2009. At that time, elections will be held to select the first official Board of Directors. The annual meeting date is Sunday, June 7th, time and location to be determined. We invite all interested women to attend and become a part of this loving, connected community.
