Resignation by Harriet Hirsch, East Coast Sage Circle

I am writing this letter as the Chair Woman of the Woman Within International Multicultural Committee (WWIMC). I have held this elected position for close to two years. Before that I was the Chair Woman of the East Coast Sage Circle Diversity Committee for a few years. That committee had morphed to include women members of WWI from all over the world. When the WWI Board grew from one woman to three our committee became an institutional part of WWI.

Every Day Mantra by David Ruch

Recently I woke up with a terrible sense of dread stirring in my mind. I lay in bed for a few minutes to see if I could get a better idea of what was causing the doom and gloom feelings. Of course there’s the stuff going on in the world that is not so pleasant to think about. Are we truly winning the war in Iraq? Will I make it through the coming or present economic recession? Will my son make it through 7th grade Spanish? Is the garbage supposed to be on the curb today or tomorrow?

Seriously though, I like it much better when my first thoughts in the morning are how much I love my wife or self talk like, “I should go make the coffee.”

Meet The Women in Circle Council Leaders, Part 2 from WIC, IL

Name: Ginny Borolov
Council Position: Scholarship Coordinator
WWTW Date: June, 2008
WWTW Location: Columbia, IL
Did you or do you staff? Yes
No.of WWTW staffed: 2
Favorite WWTW staff job and why: I have enjoyed all of my staff positions so far, as well as the challenge doing them efficiently and with intention. I have also enjoyed helping others with their responsibilities when they need a hand. It's good to experience many aspects of the Woman Within Weekend to have a better understanding of how things flow. I also enjoy getting to know other women better as they work side by side on the tasks needing to be done. I think the job I would like to learn more about and be responsible for is Ritual.

Why do you staff WWTW: Since I don't have a community in my area in Northwest Indiana, staffing is an opportunity for me to stay connected to Woman Within, continue with my work, and to experience the fulfillment that comes from witnessing the work of other women.

:: heart words

Someone Said

And in the dew studded silence of dawn
I walked alone.
The River, I thought, just let me
Sea the River, once before I go.

And in this place where the Mother turns
Turns at will – so very fickle
Her blasting winds and heavy forces
Now stood still.

And I reached the stone strewn River
That’s all I wanted.
That’s not all I found.
The rosy hue in the rushing waters
Made me look up, to the West.

And there it was, a Sight so profound
It took my breath away.
In the paleness of morning, Pink Cotton Candy
Surround the fullness of Her Majesty, Luna

And she was not alone.
Near her, yet beneath
Were her Subjects
All laden with Snow, tall pines and

And then you were there . . .
To behold and remember with me
This awe inspiring piece of Art
Yet another of our many collaborations.

Exhilarating
like the night before
I was taken
By the Absolute Beauty of it All.

And then you were gone.
I stayed . . . for there was more.
It was a knowing . . . that there was more.

I waited.

And in that brisk morning Silence
It came . . .
A sight that changed before my eyes
Like Time Lapse Photography.

The Mountain peaks
Shadowed in Mauvy Blues
Suddenly lit!
In flaming Pinks and subtler hues.

. . . Not all at once, you see
Bit by bit, as things should be
There I stood, frozen in Time
As this spectacle of Natural Wonder
Moved before me.

I wanted to run and find you
But my knowing said you'd see
This kind of Beauty before . . .
So I stood there alone
Enwrapped in the moment

And Someone Said . . .
It's all in the timing.
