What is Internalized Oppression to Me? by Leslie Recht
On June 14, the Multicultural Committee of MKP Chicago and Women in
Circle is sponsoring a workshop on Internalized Oppression for women, to
allow them to explore how sexism has affected them throughout their
lives. I have been pursuing this issue for some time, and the more I
have delved into it, the more murky it has become for me. As an
empowered woman, an attorney and someone who has worked in the business
world for my career, I have been thoughtful and intentional about what I
believed were choices I made about the man's world in which I have
operated.

Also, the day of the ancient festival of Beltane, which celebrates the fertility of Mother Earth and of our own souls. WIC WILD/WOW Awards & Banquet 2008 By Debra Cohen
The second annual Women in Circle WILD (Women in Leadership & Development) Awards were presented to this year's winners on Sunday, March 2. The WILD Awards Banquet was held jointly with the Chicago MKP men's WOW (Way of the Warrior) Awards at the White Eagle Banquets in Niles, IL. The Women in Circle community nominated women for the WILD awards and voted for the nominees, choosing the women for the Community Leader, Community Builder and Mentor Award. The Women in Circle community also voted for one MKP man to receive the Empowered Leader Award from the WIC Community.

Carpet Work with Rob Johnson by Arleen Prairie
On Saturday, February 9th, I was surprised to find I was the only woman in
attendance at a WWI and MKP group lead by Rob
Johnson MKP Kuempel Center in Chicago, Illinois. During check-in I looked into the dozen faces around me and
conveyed my fear of being supported by this group of men. I told the group I
was used to being ably supported by women in my group work, and wondered
aloud if I could trust this group of men for that same support.
