Sheri Remembered:  Europe

Some people
Come into
Our lives and quickly go.
Some people
Move our
Souls to dance.
SOME PEOPLE
Make the sky
More beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for a while, leave
footprints on our hearts, and we are
never, ever the same again.

Sheri was one of those people

Sheri Remembered: The Southwest

My dearest friend died Thursday January 4th. She was a young 51 years of age. How could this happen. I’ve learned already that this line of thinking gets me nowhere.

Sheri Zuccato was on fire with life and mission. Helping others heal their wounds and love their life was her greatest joy. The hundreds of cards and emails her parents have received are a testament to her life. She was a baffled by the terminal diagnosis as were the rest of us. She certainly never thought her work was finished. In fact, a few days before she died she was still giving her mother directions for helping someone.    click here to read full article

Sheri Remembered: The Midwest

As I think of Sheri, so many things come to mind. As I have listened to women speak of her these last few weeks, I have heard the phrases, she staffed my weekend, she held me for grief, she led my process, I experienced her workshops, she was my coach, and she was my guide. Those phrases remind me of the many ways in which she touched all of our lives.  click here to read full article

Sheri: Her Life Celebrated by All Women

Southwest Creates a Memory

Sheri Zuccato was such a unique individual. She was a woman full with her own spirit and connectedness, in love with transformation and a knowing that her creativity and wisdom had encouraged so many men and women in their journeys of healing. We are comforted in knowing that so many of Sheri's ideas and creations will live on, and still make differences in the lives of others.  click here to read full article

A Memorial from Europe

How to put into words the immense gratitude we feel for having had Sheri with us on so many occasions and the vast chasm that is created for us by her passing?

Our Guide – As a Weekend Leader, Sheri made everyone feel as though they mattered. As a woman, her generosity and willingness to share her knowledge and experience were remarkable.      click here to read full article

Midwest Comes Together

The memorial in Chicago was beautiful There was a fire in the fireplace, lots of food and flowers . . . we sang, we shared, we cried, we laughed, we cried , we drummed, we eat, we cried, we hugged . . .

A slide show of some photos of Sheri was playing on the TV in a room all the time we were there. This way we could view them as we wanted. Some of the photos were of a much younger Sheri and some more recent    click here to read the full article

Sheri: Last Letter from a Friend

My dearest friend,

I feel so blessed our lives have crossed in this life time. I have received so much from you and I continue to learn from your journey. When we met in Michigan, just two months after my move to the United States, you showed me the way. You created a safe environment for me to put down my mask and I allowed you and others to see me. You thought me how to build bridges instead of walls and how to set my boundaries as I stayed in connection with others.

As the time passed and we sat in circle together you became my friend, my mentor, my teacher, my support. You have always been there for me and I hope you felt me there for you as well. Our lives have continued to cross as you moved to Chicago and I moved to California. I strongly believe they will continue to cross in the future. I believe our connection is not a connection of the body, but of the soul, and souls don’t have boundaries of time or material existence.

In Next Month's Issue . . . The Shadow of Prejudice.

"We ask you to look deep within yourself and consider how you may have reacted in the past, the feelings that may have come up for you when facing someone who is different from you. Is it always the woman or man you see first or is age, background, race, language, status or some other difference in the way she or he looks to you? With the best intentions in the world, we all make judgments based on what we think we see, and the impact of this on the other, and on ourselves, can be immense.

We are inviting you to take a leap and share with us one of your prejudices and where you believe this might have come from in your life. Write an article, create a poem, or perhaps even interview yourself . . . It is in sharing our shadow that we shine light on what must be seen and thereby create a shelter for those who need it."  Natasha Taylor

Last Words: Life's most beautiful and fulfilling moments are the most  sincere and authentic ones.  Listen to the longings of your heart.  Pay attention to that little voice inside of you. Choose to live each moment as the authentic person you are, and from those moments you will create much real and lasting richness.

What is Death

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without affect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.

All is well.
~ Henry Scott Holland
