Dear Women,
Extending a warm welcome to our new Woman Within connections from Transitions Europe! Many thanks to Teresita Fawcett, for passing along the Heartbeat newsletter to her WW friends in Europe. We look forward to one-day hearing their stories and listening to their heart-songs.
In the U.S., Heartbeat subscribers are far the NW to Alaska, SW to California, NE to New Jersey, SE to Florida. The mission of the Heartbeat to connect women across all borders is being fulfilled.  Welcome, dear women, everywhere!  The Editor

WOW! What a Staffing Experience by Teresita Fawcett

I find that I am sitting in a circle of WW staff for the Friday 9:00 a.m. staff meeting. With my eyes closed I hear the other women checking in. It all sounds, and feels so very familiar and yet there is so much that is not, almost dream-like. I open my eyes and look around, yes this is a Woman Within weekend. Yes, we are checking in . . . and the difference is that this is not Apple Farm in NJ, or House in the Woods in WI, or Trafalgar, IN, or any other place in the USA, Canada, or England.

I am in a place just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. It is Thanksgiving in the USA and summer here. This was the first of 2 WWIL weekends November 25 - 27 & December 2 - 4, 2006. We are the midwifes to support the birth of Women for Afrika.     click here to read full article

Tracey Jane Hall: Creating Community

I am Tracey Jane Hall. Initiated into my womanhood in October of 1992, I am: a mother of four, in love with my husband, a small farmer, craftswoman, teacher, facilitator, and friend.

Recently, I have felt a renewed passion for creating community bubbling up inside me. I have chosen to step into two new roles in the Women In Circle community. I will be representing Wisconsin on the Women in Circle Council and joining a new Event Planning Team for Women In Circle.

I want to create more community in the Women In Circle region.         click here to read full article

Trish Williams, Illustrator

As a child I could rarely be found without a pencil in hand, constantly drawing, doodling, designing, creating. No phone-pad or book cover was left without my mark. As a young adult I dreamt of attending art school, to become a Medical Illustrator. Instead, I became a Medical Technologist, the closest thing to Medical Illustration that any advisor could recommend. I married a doctor, set down my pencil and raised a family. My life was what many would call the "American Dream." But without art I felt empty and unfulfilled. While my children were at home I was happy enough, but when they left for college the old hankering to study with really fine artists returned.

Detail from "Woman Within"

Elaine's Story by Elaine Finn

It's hard to imagine it has been 10 years since the life altering Delavan, Woman Within Training Weekend (WWTW) weekend which began the birth of my woman within coming out. What a grand journey it has been!

My family had just moved back to the Midwest from an unsuccessful attempt to establish a new way of life in Washington State. I was heartbroken at giving up on a lifelong dream, and experiencing the truth of "you can't go home again". A wise teacher insisted I attend Woman Within.

The first of many personal growth workshops, that weekend did indeed change my life.      click here to read the full article

Breath

Breathe in. . . 1 – 2 – 3 – 4
Breathe out. . .4 – 3 – 2 – 1

Where is our breath?
Where has it gone?

It is lost amongst
chaos* confusion* craziness
the busyness of life.

God, rescue our breath for us,
or we will surely die.

Where is our breath?
Where has it gone?

“It’s here, dear child,
where it has always been,” God replies.
“Slow down, and you’ll catch it.”

Breathe in. . . 1 – 2 – 3 – 4
Breathe out. . . 4 – 3 – 2 – 1

Praise God, for our breath has been found.
